I am excited to announce that on Monday May 10, 2021, the MIAA Board of Directors passed an initiative put forward by the MSSADA to provide you the opportunity to pay your dual membership to the MSSADA and NIAAA ($250) when paying your institutional dues to the MIAA. This "one stop shopping" will allow you to join the MIAA, MSSADA, and NIAAA all at one time.
It is important to note, that this is not an increase to the MIAA institutional dues, it is simply an avenue by which you can now gain membership to the MSSADA and NIAAA all in one purchase order to the MIAA. Your dual membership will be registered with the MSSADA and NIAAA upon payment. This is a great opportunity to become a member of all three associations at one time, on one purchase order, and at the same time every year without fear of your MSSADA or NIAAA membership being out of date.
Massachusetts is a dual membership state requiring a payment of $170 to the MSSADA and $80 to the NIAAA. Dual membership to the MSSADA and NIAAA has several outstanding benefits. To name a few, liability protection, registration to the MSSADA state conference in Hyannis, access to our website, seminars, informative resources, LTI classes at a discount for members, and extensive networking with colleagues. The $2,000,000 in liability insurance and $2,500 life insurance policy alone are worth the $250. Add to that the tremendous professional development opportunities and you are getting your dollars worth and more!
This initiative is certain to strengthen the partnership between the MSSADA and MIAA by increasing common memberships in the associations and insuring better representation and communication. To include these dues amounts for membership in the MSSADA and NIAAA with your MIAA registration fee do not uncheck the box on the right side of the form where the registration fee is calculated. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for our ever growing association.

We are proud to announce the winners of the 2021 MSSADA Scholar/Athlete Essay Awards!
This year's winners are Grace Brogioli from Wareham High School and Benjamin Westphal from Algonquin Regional High School. These two remarkable individuals will now represent Massachusetts in a pool of candidates from Section 1 in contention for the NIAAA Scholar/Athlete of the Year Award.
Special thanks go out to Scoreboard Enterprises and The Championship Award Guys, strong supporters of our organization, who are financing $500 scholarships to each of our winners in recognition of their outstanding academic and athletic achievements.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the athletic administrators that supported this effort by taking the time to spread the word to their respective candidates and for writing such heartfelt recommendations. We had numerous applicants, all truly outstanding young men and women.
